He was suspended in a state of half-consciousness for a long time, his eyelids fluttering as though he were dreaming and trying to wake up but not quite getting there. It was nearly an hour after they'd gotten to LOMAX before he woke up again, a rush of air leaving his lungs followed by an abrupt gulp of it inward, and he sat bolt upright, gripping both the front of his shirt and the nearest thing to his other hand (in this case, a handful of the lush green grass covering his planet). He couldn't focus his eyes for a terrifying thirty seconds until his knees finally swam into view and his breathing evened out slightly.
He was dully aware of the presence of others, and his breath rattled in his chest as he turned to look up at them. His eyes settled on each of them individually, and stayed on Roxy for a long spell. He knew her face, but not her name. Not who she was. She was with Jane and Dirk-- she had to be someone important. His stomach twisted itself in horrible knots and he tried to maintain composure, but his body shook and he curled in on himself, drawing his knees to his chest and hugging them tightly.
