Jake had taken note of Dirk's near-complete hairlessness, and found it marginally fascinating. He and his grandmother both were relatively hairy creatures-- Jade had never shaved her legs as a girl, so if she ever wore skirts shorter than ankle-length she wore tall socks or leggings with them. And she had a wild mane atop her head. Jake's hair was obviously much shorter, but the same wiry tangle as his grandmother's, and the style he generally wore it in was less that of a style and more a comb and gel to make it not stick out in every direction like he'd been electrocuted (his bed hair was always comical).
He chuckled at the accusation, though. "Gram says the same thing," he offered. "Says she doesn't know where I get the height from, that I must be related to the Jolly Green Giant." He was quite obviously very fond of his grandmother.
