He wasn't really all that miserable, just sort of gross-feeling in the vicinity of his main digestive organ. He smiled around his tiny forkful of pie anyway. Jade put her hands behind her back, clasped, and looked a bit sheepish.

"You can't take some, because I kind of was so confident that you'd enjoy the pie-- mostly because Jake helped convince me --that I made a second one for you to take home?"

Jake cracked up around his mouthful of pie.

"Gram you're shameless."
