THE RANDOM SCENARIO MEME 3.0



→ I've made separate threads for my characters who are available. If you want to thread with one of them...
→ Go to RNG and enter 1-7 for a scene type, and 1-20 for a scene to play out, or just pick something seriously lbr you're probably going to do that anyway.
→ Comment to the character you want to thread with and set up the scene.
→ Note that I am absolutely shit at RPing fights and sex, but more power to you if you're willing to put up with my pathetic attempts.
→ Have fun!

TYPE OF SCENE.

① Action → Gun fights, bar brawls, fights to the death are all possible scenarios.
② Angst → Characters suffer emotionally or physically from relationships breaking up, death, injury, etc. Hurt and comfort themes are included.
③ Crack → Genderswaps, super powers, sudden compulsions are all possible outcomes.
④ Fluff → Something that is devoid of angst. It's light-hearted and might have the overtone of romance.
⑤ Gen → General fun, things that didn't fit in the other categories.
⑥ Sex → First times, kinks, even dubcon are all possible themes of sex related scenarios.
⑦ Your choice → Think of your own scenario, choose one of the above or make a combo even!

ACTION.

① Zombies → It's the zombie apocalypse, lock and load!
② Bar brawl → You had one too many drinks, said something wrong, and now you're being asked to take it outside.
③ Chase → You're caught in a high speed chase.
④ Gun fight → You're caught in a big shoot-out.
⑤ Fight with a friend → You're fighting with a friend, all out.
⑥ Interrogation → You're being interrogated for some offense you've done.
⑦ Aliens → Aliens are attacking and you're not going to take your probe laying down!
⑧ Final battle → This is it. The battle that will end all the fighting for you. Will you win? Will you get that peace you want?
⑨ Training → You're not actually fighting, just training for the inevitable.
⑩ No hope → You know this fight has no hope. It's not going to end well for anyone involved, but you can't turn away.
⑪ Sneaking in → You're stealing a diamond or sneaking in to kick some bad guy butt, but whatever it is, you have to practice stealth.
⑫ Blue wire → You're faced with a bomb that needs to be disarmed.
⑬ Fight for honour → You've been disgraced or someone you care about has, so it's time to fight for honour.
⑭ Showdown → Time for a cowboy-style showdown. Whoever draws the fastest wins.
⑮ War → You're caught in the middle of a war here. Remember to keep your chin up and keeping fighting.
⑯ Apocalypse → The apocalypse finally happened and now you're left to scavenge and fight for whatever is left.
⑰ Sabotage → It's time to sabotage someone's plan! How is entirely up to you. Do you set up a bomb in their toilet? Do you double cross them at the last minute?
⑱ Big damn hero → You know you have to handle this one alone, so that means disarming or knocking unconscious the person who wants to join you.
⑲ Fight club → You know the rules... you're in an underground fighting ring and you're fighting with all you've got.
⑳ Threaten → You've just been sent here to rough them up a little, threaten them into behaving.

ANGST.

① Injury / illness → Your character has become injured or ill! To what extent is the mun's choice.
② Last moments → You character has been gravely injured and this is their last chance to say their last words.
③ Depression → Your character is depressed, what actions they take is up to the mun.
④ Betrayed → You character has been betrayed by the other. How do they react?
⑤ Tortured → Your character is being tortured and needs rescuing or at least a sympathetic ear to help him through it.
⑥ Jealousy → Your character is feeling jealous and must deal with it, how will they do it?
⑦ Breakup! → This relationship has gone as far as it can, it's time to breakup.
⑧ Broken → For whatever reason, the character is broken, mentally or or physically.
⑨ Fight → You can't even be in the same room as your friend or lover without arguing anymore.
⑩ Lost → You lost the biggest fight of your life and now all you can do is try to pick up the pieces.
⑪ Worst nightmare → Whatever you fear the most is now real or maybe you're just trapped in a dream together, but whatever it is, it feels too real.
⑫ Addicted → You're addicted to something, alcohol, drugs, sex, whatever. It's destroying your life and you can't do anything to stop it.
⑬ Hurt you → You're being forced to hurt someone you love either by betraying them or even being forced to shout things you don't mean. It's for their own good in the end though.
⑭ Separation → You were forced to leave this person for their own safety and while you've been miserable without them, you really didn't mean to run into them again... maybe it was by accident or you were watching them from afar this whole time.
⑮ Becoming a monster → You are slowly changing, becoming a monster: vampire, zombie, demon, something you can't recover from and no-one can help you.
⑯ Frozen → You are entirely helpless, frozen, to stop some kind of disaster.
⑰ Prison → You were very bad and now it's time to pay the price by turning yourself in or maybe the law just finally caught up to you.
⑱ Fear → You're not sure why, but you are suddenly terrified and you can't deal with it. You need help.
⑲ Hated → You are now hated by the person you loved the most.
⑳ Down and out → You're living on the streets, you've hit rock bottom, and you don't know what to do.

CRACK.

① Sexswap → Uh-oh, you're suddenly the opposite sex!
② Forced confessions → No matter what it is and no matter how hard you resist, you're going to be compelled to spill some deep dark secret!
③ Mind-reading → You've suddenly got the ability to read minds!
④ Animal → You're suddenly part animal or transformed into an animal!
⑤ Awkward pick-up lines → You're compelled to use bad pickup lines on whoever is closest!

① Nice meeting you → It's your first time meeting this person! You bumped into each other on the street, in a bar, at work... whatever!

③ Lost → You're lost and you kind of need help finding your way to where you're going. A little help with directions?
④ Costume party → You're at a costume party, both of you are wearing masks. Do you keep the anonymity or take it off and see whose company you've been enjoying?
⑤ Wrong number → Oops, actually you didn't mean to call that person...
⑥ Drunk → You're already drunk! Drunk dialing, stumbling into someone, showing up unexpected... what type of drunk are you anyway? Aggressive, loving, happy? How does the other react?

I know you Striders are a bit... critical in the area of cinema, so I figured I'd tread lightly and start with a classic-- are you a fan of Indiana Jones, Mister Strider? [God he fucking hopes so. Or that he at least doesn't hate the series with the fiery passion of a thousand suns.]

Dirk would have gone along with Dave to the airport, really he would have. But he'd been up working on the finishing touches of one of his newer models of robot and fallen asleep for a couple of hours on his work table, so he hadn't quite finished meticulously cleaning every inch of the apartment by the time the older Strider needed to leave. Dirk himself rarely drove, though he had his license (he was marginally more light-sensitive than Dave, since his glasses were more for his Auto Responder than they were for UV protection, so if he drove it was usually at night). And this worked out better, anyway-- he actually wasn't sure he was prepared for this encounter.

Meeting Roxy had been one thing. They'd sort of grown up together, in person and otherwise, given the weird familial-but-not ties they shared. Christmases with the Strider/Lalonde family were ...interesting. But Roxy was basically his sister anyway, so meeting her had been less confusing. Nevermind the fact that Jake was kind of the object of Dirk's poorly-contained boners since he was thirteen. That would definitely change a person's ability to properly handle a situation.

But, Striders were masters of poker faces. So when Jake burst through the door with his luggage Dirk had just set himself down at the kitchen table to wait for his brother's return with his charge, nursing a bottle of orange soda in the singlemost nonchalant way ever.

Which was to say, not really nonchalant at all.

He looked up before Jake was even in the apartment, in slight alarm because it sounded a bit like an elephant was making its way up the stairs to the third floor, and balked at him from behind his pointed communication glasses for a moment before he screwed the cap back on his soda and set it down to rise and meet the islander.

He supposed it wasn't terribly inaccurate to have assumed an elephant was coming up the stairs. Jesus Christ, Jake English was a monster of a human being.

Dirk was not okay. Dirk was not okay, because Jake was not okay. The clumsy little dunderhead had tripped over his own feet or some manner of debris, fallen, alerted a group of shufflers, and not been able to get up fast enough to run. And Dirk had taken this particular moment to be too many paces ahead of him to get to him before they did.

Funny thing about zombies, they moved obnoxiously fast when they wanted to.

He'd chopped off a few heads and punched off a few rotting jaws, hauling Jake up by the back of his shirt and dragging him away before the scuffle could alert more of them. They'd moved quickly in the shadows for a good while to get away, Dirk never once letting go of the not-assaulted sleeve of Jake's shirt. He'd seen the blood, and he could only hope it wasn't what he feared it was, but there was too much of it and it was too clean to not belong to whom it was staining.

He nearly threw Jake to the ground in a quiet alleyway, checking the rest of him over before he got to the arm.

"This is why I'm always telling you not to stray, Jake," he muttered as he tore off the mangled sleeve of the islander's shirt to reveal the bite.

Things could have gone better. Things could have gone so, so much better. But it was old news, and even if every time he saw Jake the scab got peeled up a little at the corners, he smoothed the skin back down easily and adjusted his shades, largely ignoring the irritable dull ache in his chest. They hadn't really spoken on their own, though Dirk behaved like nothing had happened when they were all together. He just avoided sitting, standing, or breathing near Jake.

And it wasn't out of hatred, and surely not of Jake. Things had just been such a mess and they hadn't had a chance to even think about anything until a handful of days ago anyway that it had all welled back up like a clogged toilet and Dirk had just shut the door and walked away instead of finding the plunger. It was making just about as much of a mess, too.

He hadn't really taken a headcount, but when John had proposed movies he automatically assumed Jake would be there. So he'd lingered and watched the introduction to some one of John's comically shitty old action movies before he'd slunk off with the intent of having some good old-fashioned alone time. It was pretty great, having your obnoxious sentient sunglasses no longer permanently attached to your face, even if now it meant a periodic visit from a glowing horse guy wearing him.

He slunk into the shared bedroom and didn't even notice Jake at first in the dim lighting, tapping the old school touch-lamp with two fingers as he sat on the edge of the bed on the slightly-less-blue side of the room and taking off his shades. The light cast itself across the room and caught Jake's shoes, and Dirk went rigidly still and refused to raise his eyes from the tread of them.

[The mission hadn't gone quite as smoothly as anticipated. One problem led to another and they seemed to multiply tenfold until her crew had had to retreat. Unfortunately their only option was through the Caves of Narshe.

Needless to say it had been hell getting out of there, but Nepeta was happy to say that they had all made it out alive. A little worse for wear, a couple days past their return date, but alive and with no severe injuries.

It was good to be back in Balamb, needless to say. It had been a sweep since she became a SeeD, which meant she had been here for a good two sweeps and it had completely become her new home. The love she felt for this world and facility could never be fully expressed but she owed everything to it.

She was on her way back to her shared respiteblock with Vriska when she decided to swing by Karkat's first to see how he was doing. She gave his door a knock and made a last ditch effort to tidy herself up. Yea, that crush had gone nowhere--honestly it had only grown exponentially if anything.]

[For all his struggling early on, Karkat had made an impressive comeback in his studies, climbed the ranks, and... Had actually let most of his teammates surpass him and beat him to becoming a SeeD. He wasn't their leader anymore-- he'd learned that the hard way, one too many times. They were all their own leaders.]

[So he stopped kicking himself (mostly), grew into his boots (he was still short), and watched them all soar with the quietest of proud smiles, even if he hadn't done a thing to get them there. Nepeta was no exception.]

[They'd all come such a long way.]

[Also Nepeta had grown up into a BAMF. Not that she hadn't been one at six sweeps, but-- Damn. He worried, still (Karkat always worried), but he was starting to wonder if he shouldn't be more worried about being left behind. Even coming back late from her mission, there wasn't even a shadow of a doubt that Nepeta would turn up fine.]

[...Okay, no, he'd worried himself into a right tizz in the days between their scheduled return and when they actually got back, but he wasn't about to go telling her that.]

[Though it was a bit evident in the exponential mess his hair was (not much different from normal, but she'd know the difference between Karkat's usual bedhead and Karkat's neurotic worried bedhead) and the way his entire person sagged in the doorway when it was her.]

[Hope you're ready for your first solo mission, John, because shit got real. Jake should have known better than to think that reasoning with his father would end in his favor. He probably should never have walked back onto this turf after he'd sworn never to again.]

[Well- at least he had some information for John so that made it worth it. If he could get out of here alive, he'd really be in business. As it stood right now, some of his father's cronies were having their way with him for old times sake.]

[being able to see was kind of hard. First because they broke his glasses, and then because of the blood that wound up running down the side of his face. When he raised up complaint with that, one of them had taken a knife to his left eye.]

[He had several broken ribs he was pretty sure and a number of bruises and small bleeding wounds.]

[John had actually been itching for a solo mission for quite some time now, though he had wished it was happening under different circumstances. He hated when Jake was cagey-- it always meant something was going to go wrong. So when he quoted, I'll be back in a few hours, chap, and it had been nearly five, John was sick of waiting. Aimless as Jake's wandering sometimes was, distracted as he sometimes got, he never gave an inaccurate timestamp to this degree. 'A few hours' was three, at most. At four and a quarter, John was through with waiting.]

[And he didn't know what it was that lead him to where he went-- Instinct, perhaps. Pure unbridled irritation. Definitely concern. But when he'd finished sneaking around for a while to figure out if he was infiltrating mob territory for no reason at all on a basic suicide mission, he'd overheard some grunts having an excited little chatter about the boss's son being in town for a little meeting.]

[He hadn't understood until they started arguing over who got to keep the pair of berettas aforementioned son had been relieved of, because he probably couldn't shoot with only one eye.]

[And then it was pretty much a blur. The two grunts lay sprawled in the hall, one's head caved in in the back choking on a pool of his own blood as he tried fruitlessly to survive, the other unconscious and probably dead beside him. He wasn't even sure where he'd hit him.]

[And it continued in this manner through about eight people, John blinded by rage and concern and so help him, Jake, if you were dead he was going to fucking kill you.]

[By the time he got to where Jake was being held, he wasn't even bothering to carry his hammer anymore. It dragged behind him on the ground, making bloodied skidmarks along the tile floors. He gave the guard (Just one-- stupid. Sloppy. Probably planned.) a barked warning to get the fuck away from him, and about eight seconds before he rushed him. He was down in under a minute. Why did nobody ever think someone with John's build could bludgeon them to death?]

[He rounded on Jake, hammer still hefted like he was considering hitting him, too.]

[John's berserker-like rage had always been something to behold. Jake had seen it a few times, and the end result was always effective if messy. It also kind of worried him. There was no stopping a violent force with an over-sized sledgehammer.]
